Welcome to Let Us Fish.
Mission Statement
Let Us Fish advocates for the opening of the EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone) to Striped Bass, for fisherman.
Vision and Goals
Let Us Fish, a non-profit, internet-based organization, seeks de-regulation of wild striped bass on the Atlantic Coast in order to provide optimum and sustainable public fishing opportunities for anglers from Maine to North Carolina, and to secure the greatest socio-economic value possible from the fishery.
The allowable catch of wild striped bass should always be subordinated to conservation measures necessary to maintain a healthy population. However we believe the current geographical restrictions are un-reasonable, and need to be changed.
1. Open a dialogue, and have a voice with the agencies responsible for closing the EEZ to fisherman.
2. Continue with current 2 fish per man quota, but allow us to follow the fish where they go.
3. Have a more aggressive tagging program with incentives, for anglers to tag breeding fish.
If you are a fisherman, and are interested in not having your rights to fish impacted by over zealous regulation, that science does not support, then join our petition, and give yourself a voice on this issue.
